Ecosafe Group is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted for FSM Project of the Year for its work at Mary Rose Avenue, Ryde, on the Isle of Wight, delivered in collaboration with Southern Housing.

The project involved urgent fire compartmentation works at 3349 Woodlands, where a detailed survey identified approximately 600m of required fire-resisting separation across loft areas to support the safe reoccupation of the block. Ecosafe Group was appointed by Southern Housing to mobilise quickly and deliver the works within a tight four-week programme, overcoming the logistical challenges of working on the Isle of Wight while maintaining compliance, quality and programme certainty.

Works commenced on in January 2026 and were completed in February 2026, with the team installing fire compartmentation using a combination of Protectas batt wall detail and Firefly cavity closer detail. The project was carefully coordinated by both site and office teams, with ferry travel, accommodation, deliveries and waste removal all managed to keep the programme on track.

As an approved fire safety contractor for Southern Housing, Ecosafe Group was trusted to take on this at-risk project beyond its usual contract scope, demonstrating its ability to respond quickly to complex challenges and deliver a compliant outcome under pressure. The project was completed on time and to specification, helping enable the safe reoccupation of the building and reinforcing the strength of the partnership between Ecosafe Group and Southern Housing.

The Fire & Security Matters Awards 2026 will be announced at a gala ceremony at the Coventry Building Society Arena on 2 July 2026. The awards celebrate excellence across the fire and security sector, recognising projects that demonstrate quality, innovation, collaboration and meaningful impact.

Ecosafe Group Fire Operations Manager, Andrew Eckersley AIFSM, said:

“We are incredibly proud to be shortlisted for Fire Safety Project of the Year for our work with Southern Housing at Mary Rose Avenue. This was a complex, urgent project that required close collaboration, careful planning and a real team effort to deliver safely and on time. It is fantastic to see that work recognised at this level.”

Ecosafe Group would like to thank Southern Housing for its trust and collaboration, and the project team for their commitment in delivering a high-quality result in challenging circumstances.
