Ecosafe Group has been shortlisted for a CN Specialists Award in recognition of its delivery of urgent fire compartmentation works at Mary Rose Avenue, Ryde, on behalf of Southern Housing.
The project has been recognised for its delivery under significant time pressure, technical complexity and logistical challenge. Working to a strict four-week programme, Ecosafe completed approximately 600m² of compliant loft compartmentation to enable the safe reoccupation of the residential block, while overcoming the additional constraints associated with working on the Isle of Wight.
The shortlisting recognises not only the technical delivery of the project, but also the teamwork and leadership that underpinned it. With residents temporarily re-allocated during the works, maintaining programme certainty was critical to avoid further disruption and to support Southern Housing in making the block ready for safe reoccupation.
Scott Taylor, Contracts Manager at Ecosafe Group, said: “We are delighted to see the Mary Rose Avenue project shortlisted for a CN Specialists Award. This was a job that demanded real commitment from everyone involved, not only because of the technical requirements, but also because of the tight programme and the importance of delivering the works on time for the residents and our client. The team showed outstanding professionalism throughout, and this recognition reflects the effort that went into achieving the right outcome under pressure.”

Mark Legg, Fire Safety Contract Manager at Southern Housing, said: “Ecosafe were given the firestopping project at late notice, with a short deadline on the FRA action.
Despite being on the Isle of Wight, which is outside Ecosafe’s area and comes with all sorts of logistical issues, ecosafe submitted a quote and gave me a start date in a very short time.
The work was completed in the planned timescale to a very high standard, with no issues. And the site was left clean and clear, as I have come to expect from Ecosafe. It was a pleasure to work with Ecosafe on this project and look forward to completing more of the same in the future."
The project involved close coordination between Ecosafe’s office-based management team and its site operatives, alongside specialist support on carpentry and associated works. Despite restricted access, ferry logistics, accommodation planning and material scheduling, the team-maintained programme momentum and delivered the works within the required timeframe.
The CN Specialists Awards shortlist highlights projects and teams that have demonstrated exceptional expertise, delivery and commitment across the construction sector. Ecosafe’s recognition for Mary Rose Avenue reflects its ability to respond quickly to high-risk, time-sensitive fire safety challenges while maintaining quality, compliance and client confidence.
The CN Specialists Awards 2026 will be held on 3 September 2026 at the London Hilton on Park Lane, where leaders from across the specialist construction sector will come together to celebrate outstanding achievement. Winners will be announced during the ceremony, with shortlisted companies recognised for excellence in delivery, innovation and technical expertise.
